We will be announcing the details in the coming weeks about our new upgrade program for HTB and AR2 lens owners that will allow them to trade-in their lens for credit towards the purchase of a higher performing lens. Say goodbye to worrying about what to do when the 'upgrade itch' hits! Stay tuned for pictures and the release of our new products! Email us for more information. Don't forget the Universal Astigmatism Correction Element is a fantastic upgrade for DIY and HTB lens owners. These elements are shipping today!
Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7448114006122375818.post-62630113412934861222009-12-08T12:11:00.000-08:002010-03-16T17:50:52.352-07:00Do you want a sharper picture? Read on.

You asked for it so here it is! We have just received our order of universal astigmatism correction elements which we were able to source for those who want to further enhance the performance of their DIY or other anamorphic lens with this great accessory. This element will correct astigmatism (the projector's inability to focus sharply in both planes across the entire screen when using an add-on lens) which is common with short throws like those found in a typical home theater environment. This is a great upgrade for those wanting to maximize the performance of their 2 element lens and will make a very noticeable difference in image quality. As this is a DIY/universal type upgrade we have included instructions and materials for making a basic custom frame to hold the element in place. You decide how you want to mount the element and make your frame, follow the quick guide to orient the element for your particular lens and sit back and enjoy! Pictures to follow. (Everyone can thank fellow AVSForum member Kevin for his great DIY guide!) Pricing for this universal astigmatism corrector is $295 plus applicable s/h.

Here's what customers have to say about the universal astigmatism correction element:

" Wow! It works! TWO THUMBS UP!"

"The astigmatism element had a very significant and NOTICEABLE improvement in focus/clarity."

"I love the universal correction element..."
The final housing design may differ from the prototype and will be tested and gone through by our engineering/design team.

We are working right now with our optics fabrication company on the production of our custom made, professionally Zemax designed ground glass prisms. The prisms are currently in production and we are awaiting samples which will be tested here in Orange County, CA. We want to ensure we get the highest quality glass once in full production mode. We have never rushed anything to market and are confident that the final product will be well worth the wait for those considering a Constant Image Height home theater upgrade. For those of you who have the need for throw ratio compatibility below 2.0, we have the answer for you with our large prism design. We will report throw ratio compatibility as that information becomes available. We anticipate these lenses to improve on the 1.7 throw ratio of the HTB-AR lens.

The newest lens design features four large glass elements which have been treated with high quality Anti-Reflective coatings as well as machine ground edges which have been edge blackened for minimal light loss. In addition, the interior of the lens housing will also be treated with other light absorbing materials to further reduce internal reflections which can lead to loss of contrast in the projected image. We also have a Universal Astigmatism Corrector element in production as well. This cylindrical element should be able to improve any anamorphic optics within the typical home theater throw distance range. This element will be able to be attached to the popular HTB-AR lens, as well as others without correction for astigmatism. Pricing has not yet been determined for any of the lenses or lens accessories.

We appreciate your patience and look forward to our newest lens release later this year.

Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7448114006122375818.post-56427765595326518642009-05-29T16:30:00.001-07:002009-09-14T20:00:42.419-07:00Anamorphic Research, LLC Announces New Home Theater Lenses

Anamorphic Research, LLC of Lake Forest, CA is developing a line of high quality anamorphic lenses for the custom home theater market and are expected to be released in the 4th quarter of 2009 for purchase through custom installers and select distributors and retailers throughout the US, Canada, Europe, Asia, and Australia. These new lenses are targeted toward the custom home theater market which has become increasingly price sensitive due to recent world economic conditions.

"Our new lenses will fill the need for an affordable, high quality anamorphic lens and bring a true cinematic experience home for many enthusiasts that otherwise could not previously justify spending several thousand dollars on a quality lens."

"We have been working with an amazing team of optical engineers, industrial design consultants, and home theater professionals on this project for the past year and we are really excited about what we will be able to offer. This line of lenses will offer the custom installer market a truly unique product that not only looks fantastic, but performs equally as well. In addition, we have also designed a system for mounting the lens using the Chief RPA series of projector brackets which will make installation of the lens and accessories a straightforward process. Installers will be able to set up the lens in less time and with less hassle, saving valuable time and headache."
